Spring Break in Nashville
Well, we (I) survived our week in Nashville...it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. We had a very relaxing week which was much needed. We went to the Grand Ole' Opry, Country Music Row, The Country Music Hall of Fame (where we saw Kathy Mattea performing for a tv show)...David was impressed!!!! We took in the sights of Nashville, which is a beautiful city. We spent a day out in the country - we visited a distillery and a bunch of cute little towns. All in all it was a great trip, but we (I) are glad to be home.

Are you ever too old for the Easter Bunny??? Are you ever too old to hunt for eggs?? Even if your Mom changed it up this year and did plastic eggs??? (In my defense, we are leaving for a week tomorrow to Nashville and I didn't feel like have 2 dozen egss awaiting my return). Happy Easter to everyone....off to Grammy and Papa's for dinner.

1st Day of Spring in Central Illinois
After about our 10th snowfall of winter, we are thrilled that Spring is finally here (even if it is in the 40's). Thought you would enjoy a few pictures of the sun rising this morning and my favorite 12 year old, who is happy that Spring Break begins tomorrow (we're off to Nashville..WooHoo!!).

Ensemble Band Competition at ICC
Jacob was selected to compete in a band ensemble competition Friday, March 7 at Illinois Central College. He along with Matt (trumpet) and Jacob K. (saxophone) they competed against 25 other ensembles and received a "1" which is the highest score you can receive. They were only one of two 6th grade ensembles competing, the rest were 7th and 8th grade students. WAY TO GO!!! Sorry only one picture, but you weren't allowed to photograph while they were playing, this is when they were warming up. Oh by the way, Jacob was the conductor for their ensemble and was applauded by the judges for his leadership. (Not that I'm bragging or anything.....hahahaha).

The 6th grade Germantown Hills basketball team finished their season with a record of 18-2. This past Saturday afternoon the team had a parent/son basketball game and pizza party. The final score was 38-32....with the boys winning. Needless to say, no Mom's played, but we were great cheerleaders....hahahaha and luckily, no Dad's got injured or had breathing problems....hahahaha. After the pizza party, the boys were awarded their letters....all in all a great season for the basketball team.
