And He's Off....Again!!!

What a busy weekend we have had....football equipment

pickup. The Kovie Kids visit and Jacob is off again for

another week on vacation. He is going with Grammy and

Papa to Branson, Missouri for a week of fun - canoeing,

swimming, Silver Dollar City, a country and western show and

then spending the weekend with Papa's family for family reunion.

The Kovie Kids are Here (for a day)!!!

Heidi and the kids made it to Illinois on Saturday for a short

stop over before they head off to Iowa. We had a great day

with them at Grammy and Papa's and are looking forward to

seeing them in a few weeks before they head back to China!!!!!

I Guess "The Day" has ARRIVED

As many of you know, I have resisted this for the past 4 years.

Many times over the past 4 years we have been asked for Jacob

to play football because he is "built" for it....maybe physically, but

emotionally, I'm not so sure. He is truly a sweet boy, he has a

golden heart and I'm just not saying that as his Mom, ask anyone

that knows him and they will tell you the same thing. That being said,

I CAVED this year, after 4 years of "pressure" from many people (including his Dad....hahahaha), I gave in. Jacob really wants to play and this being a football

community and we are only 2 years away from High School, I decided to give in...

so here are a few pictures from equipment pick up day yesterday. For those of

you that know him well, look at the picture of him in his jersey with pads and helmut and a HUGE smile....that is why I'm nervous, because that's the real Jacob, not a"bruiser"......hahahahaha!!!!!!

Look Who Is Sleeping In His Own Bed ????

After spending 2 great weeks in Florida with his cousins,

Jacob came home yesterday and is now safely sleeping

in his own bed...we sure are glad he is home...not too sure

how he will feel about me taking pictures of him while he

was sleeping...hahahaha, but he is still my "little" angel.

The BEAST Has Returned

For all of you that don't know, back in January I somehow managed

to give myself a stress fracture in my right foot along with tendonitis

from exercising on the treadmill...imagine trying to take better care

of yourself and instead you hurt yourself..who knew??? It seems I

walk/run funny on my right foot when I am on the treadmill (or so

that's what my podiatrist tells me)...to make a long story short two

weeks in the boot turned into 2 1/2 months with no exercising.

Everytime I would try to get back on the treadmill at no incline and

very slooooooooow speed, my foot would be in so much pain, I had to

get off...this went on for a month before I just decided to give up. Two

weeks ago (after not trying since April) I decided to give it another shot,

and although it still hurts some, but not nearly as bad, I'm trying to stick

it out and only do the treadmill every other day at yet another very

slooooooow speed and no incline...I'm hoping to "bump" it up a little in

the coming months....anyway, I bought myself a new pair of shoes

and I'm back on the BEAST in the storage room (YIKES) and hopefully

back to being in better shape.
