Fighting Illini vs. Mizzou

Last night was the BIG game between Illinois and Missouri.

We had Grammy and Papa over for a bbq before the game

and Jacob had his good friends, Alex and AC over for the

night as well. You can tell by the picture who was rooting

for who and much to our dismay, Missouri pulled it off (again)

and beat us 52-42....there is always next year!!!!!

1st Football Scrimmage

Sunday was picture day for football and after the

pictures, the team decided to scrimmage against each

other....this past week was the first week the boys

were allowed to wear pads to practice, so Jacob was

going to get to show us what he learned this past week.

He loved it!!!!! Let's hope he still feels that way after

getting "hit" by an opponent.

The BIG Day - 7th Grade

Today is Jacob's first day of 7th grade...he was pretty

excited about going back to school, not to thrilled to get

up at 6:30am.....Here's to a GREAT year!!!

Last Evening Spent with The Kovie's

Heidi and the kids left this morning for Shanghai, so we

spent last night with them at Grammy and Papa's. Papa

made bbq chicken on the grill, which was delicious. We had

a great 10 days with The Kovie's and can't wait to see them

next year, we only wish they didn't live so far away...

we will miss you!!!!!!!

A Day at the State Fair

Yesterday we went to the Illinois State Fair in Springfield.

It was a lot of fun. The kids had a great time riding the

rides. We enjoyed the "fair food" (translation - almost

everything is fried or on a stick)...good thing we did lots of

walking......
